8th day Oct.7th

Saturday afternoon we made a last minute decision to return home to Fujisawa a little earlier than planned. We opted to spend a night in our own comfortable futon instead of on the sleeper car on the train. It also gave us time to prepare for Sunday's church service at Amazing Grace Church. We had a great time with our friends but soon took off again, this time on a genuine, Hiromi-inspired wild-goose chase. We had planned to circle around Mt. Fuji(Fuji-san), return to Tokyo, and catch the sleeping car train to Hiroshima. I am not sure exactly what happened, but we wound up passing through Fujisawa four times in one day. Fuji-san was "socked in" (covered with clouds), so we will try again next Monday to visit Fuji-san.
