What a great evening we had with Yoko! We went to the onsen...of course! This one, the Gateaux Kingdom, is in the outskirts of Sapporo and has a great buffet which we enjoyed. When we arrived back at the house we went to sleep immediately and Yoko took us to the station the next morning. We had almost no time to visit, but Yoko and Shoitsu know we will be back, sooner or later. At 7:21am our train left the Sapporo station bound for Shari on the eastern side of Hokkaido. This is amazing and unspoiled beauty at any time, but especially this time of the year as the leaves are turning. The landscape is peppered with volcanoes and heavily forested. 夕べはダイアンさんから聞いたガトーキングダムという温泉に行って、そこで夕飯も食べました。札幌近郊にある最近できた温泉だそうです。プールが隣接しているようで、なんだかざわついていてゆったりできる雰囲気ではなかった。 朝7時21分札幌から網走へ。今日は知床斜里まで行ってレンタカーでドライブ。ナビが付いているけど、最初は使い勝手がわからないので、地図を持っていればよかったなぁ。北海道は思ったほど寒くなく、紅葉もやっと始まりかけたところでした。
