Bullet train from Okayama to Kagoshima, the south part of Kyushu. Going
back to Osaka to ride another sleeping car.
岡山から、新幹線さくらで鹿児島中央まで。フェリーで桜島の温泉へ。

At about 3AM I got up, found a lounge area, and read and slept there the
rest of the night. I will make up for the lost sleep on the way to Kagoshima,
future home of Eddie and Bonita Harper, who plan to start a Bible school
there in the not too far distant future. Just now, Hiromi and I have finished
our breakfast at McD's, and are enjoying the use of the internet lounge
provided for users of the Japan Railroad (JR) Shinkansan. We hope you are
enjoying the trip!
ジョンいわく"お棺"のようなところでは、案の定寝ることが出来ず、早朝3時にはサロンカーへ移動。岡山で新幹線さくらに乗り換え、一路鹿児島まで。鹿児島からフェリーで桜島に渡り、目指すマグマ温泉へ。ここのフェリーは頻繁に運航されており、値段も大人片道150円という安さ。温泉も300円で入れて、鹿児島中央駅往復の交通費込みでも千円で100円おつりが来る。温泉にはたいした設備は無いが、値段を考えたら文句は無い。 |

| この日は三連休の最終日で、鹿児島中央駅は人でごった返し、帰りの電車も満席とか。グリーン車でも子どもたちが無意味に走り抜けして遊んでいる。幸いパソコン用のコンセントがあり、そちらに没頭していたので、個人的にはイラつくこともなかったが、寝ようとしていた人にはかなり迷惑だったことだろう。今晩は三段式の寝台車、ジョンはまた寝られないかもしれない。 |
